Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2nd Holiday Favorites contest! With 9 questions and 3 options for each, the poll results showed a lot of variation in our readers’ Thanksgiving traditions.
Cooking the Turkey in the oven was the clear favorite, but several went onto the grill. In almost every case though, the answer to Where’s the Stuffing was in the oven.
Potatoes & Veggies were both fairly well split between two choices – sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes (baked potatoes finished third) and greenbean casserole was slightly ahead of corn. As for the Cranberry Sauce though – there was no clear winner between made from scratch, fresh from the can, or a fruity mix.
Gimme Pie – pumpkin, please, but apple made a strong showing and pecan faired okay too. Meanwhile, Beverages of the Day took many people to the punch bowl, although alcoholic came in second and carbonated remained in the mix.
And finally, the answer to How Many Chairs was resoundingly to use the table leaves. Even so, When’s Dinner was less clear, with the votes divided between near noon, mid-afternoon, and evening.
The lucky winners—Carol Aylsworth of Acer Inc. and Ben Hershey of 4Ward Consulting. Each is receiving this tin of Cheryl’s® cookies.
So whatever your traditions over the entire holiday season, we wish you all the best as you enjoy your holiday favorites into the new year.
Happy Holidays from The Advertiser!
