Have you heard the news? On September 10, Simpson Strong-Tie announced the formation of our new partnership. Officially, Simpson Strong-Tie has begun “a direct investment into the North America Hundegger equipment sales and service representative partner, Hundegger USA, LC.”

So, what does that mean to you? It means that the cooperation between our two companies will make it even easier for you to leverage all of the technology and resources that we have for manufacturers in the building components industry.

All of our industry channels align. From Truss Components to Mass Timber and CLT to Wall and Floor panel and Off-Site construction to SIPs. Simpson has been providing a solution to the same industries where Hundegger has a CNC solution.

As Roger Dankel, President of North America Sales for Simpson Strong-Tie, frames it:

“We have known and worked with Hundegger for many years and are excited to build on our long-standing relationship. This strategic investment will strengthen our joint growth and success in the mass timber and component manufacturing markets by offering North America customers end-to-end solutions, including integrated software from a single source.”

In other words, we recognize that the lines between business models are blurring and our customers are interested in opportunities across those lines. Forward-looking companies are seeking new markets, new products, and new technologies in the off-site revolution. And of course, having software that is compatible across operating platforms is key. Now, we will be able to deliver a comprehensive one-stop shop of high-quality products, machinery, and software solutions for multiple businesses.

Not to brag, but the press release also reminds everyone about these qualities that both companies bring to the table. “Simpson Strong-Tie brings decades of innovative construction products, advanced testing capabilities, and integrated technology solutions to the investment. Hundegger offers deep industry knowledge and unsurpassed, high precision manufacturing expertise. Both companies are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and support.”

April Burt, Vice President of Building Technology for Simpson Strong-Tie sums it up best:

“Together, we can leverage our strengths and offer a uniquely integrated range of knowledge and solutions.”
