Oh, to be able to call our current situation simply one big joke—wouldn’t that be nice! Of course, we’re all taking this very seriously, as we should. We’re all finding our way, day by day, as we adjust to the changing circumstances. We’re developing ways to stay productive and create a “new normal” for ourselves.
So, in honor of this often-neglected holiday, I have two pieces of advice:
- Don’t Be a Fool!
Please remember that your actions affect many people beyond yourself! Do NOT do stupid things or take unnecessary risks. Everyone needs to stay smart to stay safe.
- Keep Your Sense of Humor!
At times like this, we need to find every possible reason to smile and laugh. And, if you’ve got levity to spare, pass it on! Go ahead—brighten someone’s day!
Especially when things feel overwhelming, we need to take a break and focus on something we still enjoy. We are stronger than we think, but we also don’t have to be strong all of the time. We can still find moments of joy, and we can share them with others. Make a promise to yourself that you won’t regret—at least once a day, find a reason to smile.
