October has arrived, which means BCMC 2019 is nearly here. For the week of October 21, the annual Building Component Manufacturers Conference (BCMC) will be packed full of activities for attendees. From meetings and workshops, to athletic events, to social functions, and of course the show floor, there will be many things to do!

Equally important, the BCMC show is not only about the things to do but also the people to see! This is the single best opportunity all year to connect with colleagues face-to-face. Component manufacturers and equipment manufacturers, consultants and suppliers, managers and staff—you can see them all at the show.

Of course, you’ll be sure to find lots of smiling faces on the show floor. Like these booth photos from 2018 of Eagle Metal, Simpson Strong-Tie, and Todd Drummond Consulting, exhibitors of all sizes will welcome you to see and hear more about what they have to offer.

The additional activities bring even more ways for component manufacturers, suppliers, and others across the industry to enjoy each other’s company and have some fun. As Joe Kannapell (pictured from BCMC Knoxville 2016) encouraged everyone to try in his August column, The Last Word on Fitness, the popular 5K Run/Walk is open to all on Thursday morning.

And remember that BCMC includes the SBCA Annual Meeting, which provides everyone with an update on the association and allows peers to recognize the annual award recipients. Who will win the Dick Bowman Industry Enthusiast award this year, following last year’s win by Ben Hershey (pictured)? Who will win the SBC Industry Leadership Award and the Dwight Hikel Humanitarian Award? And, who will be inducted into the SBCA Hall of Fame? Find out after the Kick-Off presentation on Wednesday morning.

What are you looking forward to the most? Who are you anxious to meet or see again? Hopefully, this Countdown to BCMC series has conveyed a bit more excitement in anticipation of the big show. See you in Columbus!
